About This Project
This project was developed in collaboration with WERA, a Polish composer, cellist, and singer known for her distinctive performance style built around cello, voice, and live looping. Her work creates layered “orchestral” textures from a single instrument, combining elements of indie, jazz, folk, and cinematic music into expressive, evolving soundscapes.
The project focused on translating this highly performative and organic approach into a recorded format, preserving the depth, layering, and emotional nuance of her compositions while maintaining clarity and cohesion across tracks.
My Contribution
I was responsible for full recording, music production, and mixing, working closely with the artist to capture and shape her loop-based compositions into polished studio recordings.
This involved balancing multiple layers of cello, voice, and live-looped elements, ensuring each part retained its character while fitting into a cohesive mix. I focused on preserving the dynamic and expressive nature of her performances, while enhancing clarity, depth, and spatial detail to reflect the richness of her “one-person orchestra” approach.
